veRmulsCHt (Berlin) Ashcan Orchestra Red Metal
veRmulsCHt presents a living performance diary with sounds and sights. This haphazard trio from Berlin improvises with video projections, field recordings, laptops, objects, saxophones, and spoken texts—most of which are collected during the group's trips through the universe.
Ashcan Orchestra is simultaneously the audio/visual work of composer Pat Spadine; a large collection of toy, re-appropriated, and "real" instruments; and a revolving performance ensemble based in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Since 2007 the ensemble has been employing everything from children's handbells, prepared tape recorders, stacks of discarded televisions, homemade circuitry, colored lightbulbs, and mirrors, to more widely accepted noisemakers, creating new music to both celebrate and emulate the physics that bind the known universe.
Red Metal is the newest music / performance / ritual project from Brooklyn reed weirdo Patrick Breiner. They sure look cute on paper, don't they? Look closely. These cuties draw blood. Featuring: Patrick Breiner - tenor saxophone and clarinet, Emilie Lesbros - voice, Anais Maviel - voice, Sana Nagano - violin, Chris Hoffman - cello.
