Tiny Hazard have been our favorite band—for realz—since we first saw them in a very sweaty little gallery under the rumbling J/M/Z. Their rumble put the clattering subway cars to shame and left our brains and hearts forever bruised. Yep!

David Scanlon's ever-evolving project first made us remember how much we loved Gastr del Sol albums like Upgrade & Afterlife and Camoufleur; then his music sent us into a trance; then it roused us out of that trance and crept its way down our spines like a little alien parasite.

Ben Seretan has voice reeds, composed of twin infoldings of mucous membrane stretched horizontally, from back to front, across the larynx. They vibrate, modulating the flow of air being expelled from the lungs during phonation.

Open during inhalation, closed when holding one's breath, and vibrating for speech or singing (oscillating 440 times per second when singing A above middle C), the folds are controlled via the vagus nerve. They are white because of scant blood circulation.

Birds do not produce vocal sounds by means of vocal folds but by oscillations of membranes in the syrinx.

Ben Seretan isn't a bird. He's more like an angel.
