Exploring, employing, and reshaping ancient Chinese myth, Unnecessary Suspicious seeks to unwind post-logical paradigms of contemporary urban physiology that give rise to the increasingly common high-risk mental states of panic, anxiousness, depression, and schizophrenia. Through the seemingly non-logical, non-objective based tropes found within ancient mythology, Unnecessary Suspicious uses imagination to explain the various life phenomena beyond our capacity to interpret within the matrix of current thought.

Zanisnik’s installation will be a platform for these video works, contextualizing them with found objects, personal effects, and fabricated sculptures.
