“I record my shifting portrait through social interaction, showing myself in the impressions of others. When I agreed to do the experiment with Trish I also made a new OkCupid profile, updating it as the experiment progressed. I found a connection with the OkCupid experience and Trish’s experiment in that both were filled with information partially understood and taken out of context. When the structure of the experiment filtered into the approach I took with OkCupid, the role of romance in science, art and love became, arbitrary.” – Birgit
